Imagine...A New Library

No more crowded, musty spaces.  No more impossibly hot summer days. No more too small collections bursting at the seams.  No more inadequate program spaces.  No more, is this really the kids’ section?  No more line-ups for computers.  No more looking around for a comfortable, quiet place to just read a book.  No more, ok so I got my wheelchair in the door but where do I go now?

Yes, once again we’re hard at work on a project to bring a new public library to Powell River.  In April, 2009 the Board of Trustees of the Library appointed a small group to work on the initial phases of the project.  They are Pamela Brown (you probably know her as “Brownie”) from our Library Staff; Natalie Kreter, Vice-Chair of the Library Board;  and  Charlie Kregel, Chief Librarian here at the Library. The City added Dave Douglas, Chief financial Officer to our team in October, 2009.
