Business

Let’s face it.  Things change pretty fast these days.  If you own a business you need to be flexible enough to respond to rapidly changing conditions.  Wasn’t it just the other day when several governments including Canada’s were running surpluses and paying down their debt?  And now...

Current, accurate information is one key to being effective in today’s business environment.  The Library can help with this—information is what we do for you.  Here are some of the best places to find information to support your Powell River business.

Collections at the Library

When you can set aside a little more time in your busy day (Oh, right!), we suggest you have a look in our Catalogue to see the kinds of business resources we have in our collections at the Library.  Books on investing, entrepreneurship and economic topics of the day abound.  Ask any of the Staff for more information.

Computer Research Databases

Your Library card gives you free access to computer research databases. Most may be used from your home computer as well as in the library. Some require a password. Most passwords are based on your Powell River Public Library card barcode. For those who have older, 7 character barcodes, note that the letter P is the only letter used. The second character is a zero.  For further information, please contact the Library.

Current Events

We receive several daily newspapers in the Library including The Vancouver Sun, The Globe and Mail and The New York Times.  But you probably don’t have time for that.  Yet, being up to date with what’s happening in the world is important to you.  So here are some great websites that will keep you informed.
