Listen To Music

It’s like having your own personal music CD collection.  Except this one has nearly 44,000 CDs in it.  It sounds almost too good to be true, but the Powell River Public Library offers free access to the Naxos Music Library.  Up to 5 simultaneous users of the service can listen anywhere they have a computer and speakers or headphones.

Naxos is a very big international music label.  Many of their offerings are classical, but there is also a range of folk, world and other music.  You can make your own playlists, too.  One playlist that everyone can listen to is already at the site—the entire repertoire from the 2010 Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific (SOAP) concerts.  We’ve been hearing rave reviews from those who’ve logged on.
