Use Outlook Online to request an Interlibrary Loan Please search the Powell

Your library card gives you
access to the collections of most B.C. public and
college libraries. Outlook Online is a province-wide catalogue
listing over four million items. You can place your own interlibrary
loan requests through Outlook Online. Items that you request will be sent to us
and we will contact you when they arrive. Before
you use this service, we ask you to note the following: · Check our Library Catalogue first: We will only borrow books that we do not have in our collection. If we have the book you want, call or visit us to reserve it. Or you can request it yourself by using our Library Catalogue. ·
Information:
Make sure your request has accurate information. If you are not sure
of the book title please discuss it with us before submitting the
Outlook form. ·
Wait time:
Books take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month to arrive. ·
Pick Up:
Put your phone number on the request form.
We will contact you as soon as your book is available.

Your availability: Please do not order books if you will be out of town or
unavailable to pick them up when they arrive. Items not picked
up incur a $2.50 charge. ·
Items not
available: Books
published within the past 12 months, reference material, videos,
CDs, DVDs and cassettes. ·
Renewals: These
are at the discretion of the lending library. Please ask for
renewals one week before the due date. ·
How many:
Two (2) books per patron may be requested at one time.
This includes ILL loans already checked out to you. |
Using Outlook Online to Request an Interlibrary LoanIf you find more than one record for the title you want, choose the one with the most Locations. This number is in brackets following Locations. Click on the title to select the record you want. The full entry for the record will display, click on the "Request This Item" button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. A new window with an interlibrary loan request form will open up. Enter your personal information in the following fields:
When you are finished, click on the Submit button. If you choose to abandon the request close this window by clicking on the Close button or X icon in the top right hand corner. |
How Do I Keep Track Of My Interlibrary Loan Request?Click on the Submit button. A box will open with information including the status of your request at present. If you are unsure what the status note means, ask a Library staff member. |
