Powell River Literacy Advisory Council

The Powell River Literacy Advisory Council meets regularly and is actively pursuing several projects.

List of projects

The Literacy Council goals are to:

	Promote literacy for all individuals
	To regularly determine the literacy needs of the community
	To work within the framework of existing literacy programs to increase accessibility and participation
	To provide a highly visible easily accessed community learning centre for all ages

The PR Literary Advisory council exists in order to develop Powell River as a Learning Community. Building partnerships and promoting participation at the community level considering the twin goals of sustainable economic development and social inclusion through a literate citizenry ~ draft mission statement

Literacy BC is the provincial literacy organization that promotes and supports literacy and learning in British Columbia.

Family Literacy Day

A national initiative that promotes the importance of

reading and learning together as a family.
